This aerial view captures a UNESCO World Heritage site, the historic town center of the city of Morelia in Mexico. That building occupying pride of place is the Cateral de Morelia, whose two towers literally tower over the city.
The town center itself wins the UNESCO honor because of the Cathedral and 248 other buildings that dot it. All of them are made from the same pink stone found in the region. Apart from the homogeneity in color, the reasons for getting listed include the style of town planning and the eclectic mix of various architectural styles to create a unique and individual statement.
